Story: Nelia was born to a Red Light Lady as a result of an accident in one of the rougher areas of Fontaine. Her Mother did try to raise her in light of the situation that was given to them, but due to the obvious nature of her work, Nelia's mother tried to seek out the father to take on Nelia in hopes of a better life. When Nelia's father did not respond, her mother did something most would see as a crime and left her 4-year-old daughter on the steps of the opera house hoping someone would take her in and was too cowardly to just take her to a children's home.

Fate would have it that Nelia was found by one of the performers on the night of a dress rehearsal and took her in as his own. This man happened to be the Primo Uomo, the lead male singer, of the opera at this time and his heart felt for the girl. Nelia began to show love for the arts at the age of 6 and her father began her on the path to become a performer in the opera. She went through much training, dance lessons, acting lessons, singing lessons, all the bare basics. But Nelia also showed interest in composition, playwriting, costume, and set design as well. She was well vested in her craft and had written her first short opera by the age of 13. It was only 15 minutes long, but it was an opera nonetheless. As she grew in her art, she began to excel well beyond the others her age.

At the age of 19, she became the youngest Prima Donna to grace the stages of Fontaine in over 300 years. Her beauty, skill, talent, and charisma are what set her apart and she never once let her past set her up for failure. Her father passed away shortly after she became Prima, and this was the day she began working on her biggest project yet. Her heart wanted to dedicate something special to the man who pushed her to succeed and the one who shared precious, special moments with her like her becoming Prima and getting her vision.

Vision Story: Nelia received her vision after her first show as the Prima Donna. It was her best and most memorable show in all her life, and it marked the peak of her passion for her art and talent. Her father was able to experience this moment with her before he passed away and gave her a rose enclosed in glass and gold. This would become her catalyst weapon.

Voice Lines:

  • Hello: Overtures are not always needed for introduction. The pleasure is all mine. I am Nelia, Prima Dona of the Fontaine Opera Company and I am pleased to make your acquaintance. It's not every day that one gets to meet an opera's leading lady. I do hope you enjoy the performance; it will be unforgettable, I assure you.
  • Chat
    • Opera: Not many have the slightest idea of how much work it takes to become a great opera singer. It's not just something that happens overnight and you're not just suddenly good at opera. You can be a naturally gifted singer from the day you are born, but it takes practice and training to become a master of this skill. It's just like any other skill; you must work hard to get where you wish to be and keep pushing beyond.
    • Family: It's not very often you hear people praise their family and it's most certainly not often you hear people praise those who raise them. It seems today most people have nothing but bad things to say in that regard. For me, my family was a gift from who knows where...had they not been there for me the day my birth mother left me on the stairs of the opera house...I would probably be walking the same tragic path she is now. Family isn't always blood, it's those who care and push you to be the best you can possibly be.
    • Children: While I may have no children of my own, I know and understand that children are the purest treasures in this world. I was orphaned at a young age and can see the hardships the children here in Fontaine face...When I have time off from rehearsals, lessons, and other opera-related activities I go down to the lower levels of the city and spend time with the children.
  • Good
    • Morning: Is it really time to wake up already? Not enough beauty sleep for me I'm afraid. Maybe a wink more?
    • Afternoon: After lunch, I tend to like to follow it with a piece of chocolate raspberry cake and a cup of tea. What? Yes, I do indulge in a piece of cake every day. Sweets are fine in moderation and moderation is a piece of cake once a day. You should join me.
    • Evening: Thank you for coming to the opera this evening! Here, have one of my bouquets. I get them every evening I perform, and I thought I should share some of the love with you.
    • Night:  I love the feeling of the cool night air on my skin after a performance, it helps relax me and when I get home, I fall fast asleep. Plus, the soft noises of the crickets in the grass are so calming, it's like they're singing you a lullaby. I do hope you find sweet dreams tonight.
  • About Nelia:
    • Writing and Research: People are often surprised when they found out that I not only act and sing, but I also build sets, teach classes, write librettos and composed for my own original operas. I'm actually working on a new one currently, but I'm finding it hard to remain true to the story... I really need to go to Sumeru and learn more about King Deshret. I have always found Sumerian history interesting, and this has been my most trying project. You cannot write that which you have little knowledge of.
    • Musicals: Then during the summer, I write a short little musical for the younger people of Fontaine to show off the skills, there's not many opportunities for the children her to take part in a spectacle and I love seeing their joy when the current closes on their performances.
    • Stairs at the Opera: My first experience at the opera house was when my mother left me there, never to return...You'd think the Opera Epiclese would hold hard memories for me...but it's honestly been a farm warmer place to be than what I remember my home with my mother was. There is always someone here or outside by the fountain to talk to, and no one tells you hide in another room when 'guests' are over.
  • When it rains... We should probably seek shelter, the costumes will get wet, and they take forever to dry.
  • After the rain... Oh! What a pleasant surprise! Now we can hear the birds sing.
  • When thunder strikes... Better watch out, can't have anyone end up in the hospital, can we?
  • When it Snows... It's rather chilly, isn't it? I think I left my furs in the dressing room.
  • When the sun comes out...I love the feeling of the sun on my skin after a long rehearsal stuck inside, make you see the beauty in life.
  • When the wind blows... Feels like my hat might just blow away.
  • Desert: Please tell me this is a joke. Do you have no fan? I'll surely collapse in this heat.
  • Interesting Fact
    • When off stage the directions you give on stage will be the opposite of yours. For instance, if you want someone to go stage left, and you are thinking of your left, you will tell them to go stage right.  When you hear someone tell a person to go upstage, this is a term that was used when stages use to be angled, and stages literally have an up and down.
  • About People...
    • Yunjin... In the line of work I do, it's very important to have friends outside of your career circle. Friends who will push you to better yourself and better your craft. I had an opportunity to travel to Liyue to learn from her and we became fast friends. I'd even go so far as to say we are sisters born in different lands. Yujin is truly dedicated to amaze me, and she never ceases to amaze me.
      • Yunjin about Nelia... Nelia is a dear friend of mine. She visited Liyue a while back to learn my technique to better her craft and we have been steadfast friends ever since. She is a true musician with a heart and passion like the vision she holds....
    • Neuvillette... The Justice is...well... how to put it...he's a just man with dashing looks. However, I feel I am the only one that takes notice of this? I... well... he's... Yes, he's a great man, he takes care of the people of Fontaine and holds fast to the foundations of the justice system here. What? No. That's not what I was saying at all. No, I do not have an infatuation with the Iudex... why would you assume that? He just happens to be good-looking and a regular patron of the Opera.
      • Neuvillette about Nelia... Ah yes, Fontaine's Prima. She's a kind and generous woman and quite the thrill to see on stage. As a fan of the Fontaine Opera and a regular patron, I highly recommend you attend one of her shows. She is truly the gem of the stage, not to mention the time she takes out of her day to help the children in Fontaine.
    • Charlotte...She is definitely full of energy and knows how to tell a good story. Though... there are times she gets a little overzealous with her writing. She's dedicated to her work, and she is also exceptionally good at capturing my good side on film.
      •  Charlotte about Nelia...The Prima Donna of Fontaine? Of course, I know her! She is one of the most talented performers Fontaine has ever seen, next to Lady Furina, of course! One time I was doing an interview with her for the Steam Bird, and it went a little over our timeline and she was so casual about it! She's so busy and she made no fuss that I was keeping her from the next thing on her schedule.
    • Clorinde...I have a lot of respect for Clorinde. Her job isn't exactly easy, and her skill is unmatched when you compare her to the other duelists. She is also quite interesting to be around when she's not working. Don't let her cold exterior fool you. She stopped by one time when the opera was having a luncheon at a local cafe, and she was actually quite enjoyable to speak to considering the reasons for her visit, to ask if id be interested in participating in her table top gaming game. Such an interesting request.
      • Clorinde about Nelia...She's a truly kind individual. I've seen her on her time off from the opera out helping the children in the underground. I guess she was an orphan herself before she started at the opera.
    • Furina... Lady Furina...Yes, while she may have years of experience more than I, she and I... well, needless to say, we are two completely different styles of performer, but at the same level of skill. She floats between different styles of acting and I have dedicated my life to one specific style. I have a lot of respect for her ability to switch between it all. I wouldn't for an opportunity to perform with her one day.
      • Furina about Nelia... *She laughs lightly. * Yes, yes, she is talented, but she comes nowhere close to me in popularity. Though... I'm not sure she even cares about what the people of Fontaine think about her. Hmmm. She is nice nonetheless; we have spoken on occasion at a gala or two and I've never had a disagreeable experience, and I do enjoy going to the Opera. I wish we could have had an opportunity to perform together.
    • Lyney and Lynette...Those two? Since they started their show and started performing at the opera house, I've grown a newfound appreciation for the art of "magic". I always thought it was a silly ploy of a craft until I saw some of their more dangerous tricks. Lyney is always so present when he is on stage, that show I think he draws people in. And as for Lynette, she's charismatic in her own way. Pretty and presents herself well on that stage and she still manages to be seen over the boisterous nature of her brother's personality.
      • Lyney About Nelia... The Prima is extremely talented when it comes to the stage. But I think it's the idea that she cares so much for the children in Fontaine that makes her stand out. I guess she was an orphan before she came to the opera and being where Lynette, Freminet and I have been it warms my heart seeing her put time in to spend with them, writing short musicals for them to perform during the summer.
      • Lynette about Nelia... Miss. Nelia has a way about her that I can't seem to really put a single word too. She is a spectator and participant in the arts.  She has profound knowledge of music that even I can't understand, not only that, but she is accomplished in far more than just performance. She's helped Lyney and I on occasion with emergency wardrobe malfunctions.
  • Birthday...*Sings Happy Birthday very dramatically* Happy Birthday Traveler, I do hope you have the most wonderful day, and the world gives you a standing ovation, with all you have done on your journey you deserve the longest ovation ever seen.
  • About Us...
    • You know, I write operas too. When your journey is said and done, I do hope our paths cross again, so I can hear about them and record your adventures to be brought to the stage. I imagine it would be an epic of sorts.
    • It's not every day that a person decides come sit in an empty theater to think. Though for you... I suppose this place is full of many memories you chose to linger on. Remember those are the past and there they will stay. I am not saying to forget them, I am meaning. Take them and grow on them, use them to light the path to the end of the road you travel. It's similar to lighting and unlit torch with a fire you made previously.
  • About Vision
    • Oh! Yes, well, my thought is that if someone catches the eyes of the God's, they must be doing something important, or the God's see them as able to do something important. Those with Visions are chosen, that means they're special.
  • Share...
    • Did you know music is a universal language? The reason? Well for scientific backing, I have none. But I know that everyone feels the same emotions and when music is created the instrumental will always carry the heart of those emotions. If a song is sad, all people will understand what is meant to be felt. If a song is happy, it feels happy. I'm sure even a hillichurl can understand music.
  • Hobbies: Reading is actually an amazing opportunity to find new stories to bring to the stage. You can read and travel to far-off lands, like Inazuma, and it can spark a whole new idea for an opera. Could you imagine a whole opera about the Raiden Shogun? I think it would be rather exceptional. Maybe you could help me write it?
  • Troubles: Being a well-known opera star isn't all it's cracked up to be. Yes, I enjoy the thrill of the stage and the applause...but it does get to your head sometimes and... sometimes I need to humble myself when I find I'm being overly dramatic. I tend to get carried away with the stress of my career that I forget to treat people with respect... One time there was a new dancer, and she was just trying to remember her counts and accidently danced on my dress and I... snapped at her... I felt horrible after... needless to say, I apologized and made sure to treat her to ice cream later.
  • Favorite Food... You know there's something to be said about confectionary. There is a special skill there that many don't have. You have to have patience to get the sugar to the right temperature so that it will form the right way when it cools. I think that's why I enjoy sweets so much, or... it could just be that they are simply delicious, though sometimes I just want to look at them...they can be so pretty.
  • Least Favorite Food... Bleh...is that raw meat? how...how can you just...ew...just no...
  • Gift
    • Who would have known a dish could make one sing? This was superb!
    • What a harmonious flavor, I love the way the flavors blend for great flavor.
    • Well... Umm, I dare say this fell a little flat.
  • Ascension
    • It's never too late to learn a new dance step, it's time to put it to practice.
    • When you reach a new milestone in your career, remember you can always improve. You're never done growing as a musician.
    • It's never too late to take a step toward professionalism, if you'd like I can offer my assistance.
    • Dancing through the melodies we call life will not always be a polka. You can only three steps for so long and you begin to waltz. Your feet grow tired, remember there is a rest in every song.

    • I have designated times for autographs before and after one show each week. This keeps things less chaotic for both me and my loyal fans.
    • People seldom think I would enjoy singing outside of my work at the opera house, but it's rather humorous when they find out I sing almost everywhere I go.
