Childhood: She grew up the daughter of a schoolteacher and a military police captain. Her older brother, Johnathan, was best friends with Erwin and he was the same age as him. Her life was easy, and she was well taken care of. Her father is who ultimately had Erwin's father taken away. Erwin never blamed her or her brother for this due to his current views and knows that both Jonathan and Elena share his views as well.
Life Changing Moment: She was in the field on her first mission beyond the wall with the survey corps and she was grabbed off her horse by a 10-meter titan who was ground bound. Thankfully Levi and Hange came in and saved her before she lost her arm. From that moment on she pushed herself to better herself in terms of horse to sky combat and not she surpasses even Levi in the quick transition.
